Sustainability is about the future…

Our oceans are home to an amazing variety of life and support the livelihoods of 1/10 of the world’s population. But, marine ecosystems are under enormous pressure. Unsustainable fishing is threatening fish populations, ocean habitats, coastal fishing communities and economies.

Sustainable fishing means leaving enough fish in the ocean, respecting habitats and ensuring people who depend on fishing can maintain their livelihoods.

Fishing activity must be managed carefully and at a level that ensures it can continue indefinitely so that other species and habitats within the ecosystem can remain productive and healthy.

Over the past 20 years, 12% of the world’s fish have been MSC certified as sustainable. For this to happen, 1,200 improvements were made to look after our oceans better. Fishermen and fisheries managers have made some fantastic changes but there is still a long way to go!

This is why we only source and sell wild caught fish from well managed waters.
